Boots On - Single Cover
Next single · Coming soon 2026Próximo sencillo · Muy pronto 2026

Boots On (2026)

Boots On is a defiant outlaw anthem about claiming country music on your own terms. With no southern drawl and no dirt road in his past, the narrator carries the genre's true spirit anyway — a stand against the polished Nashville sound and a call to bring back the grit.

Verse 1I wasn't born in the land of the free, But I've got the soul of a man who roams wild and free, No southern drawl, no dirt road in my past, But I've got a fire that's meant to last. ChorusI am not your typical country boy, But I have the heart of a cowboy. It's time to grab my hat and put my boots on (boots on!), I'll stand tall, an outlaw at dawn. I'm breaking the chains of the Nashville sound, Bringing back the grit, where real men are found. Verse 2Country ain't about the boots you wear, Or the way you tip your hat with flair, It's about the struggle, the blood, the tears, The songs that echo through the years. Verse 3Where's the rebel spirit, where's the fight? Country used to be the sound of the night, Now it's all shine and no dirt in the gears, But I'll bring back the truth, and silence these fears. Guitar SoloChorusI am not your typical country boy, But I have the heart of a cowboy. Verse 1The jukebox hums like an old friend tonight It knows every wrong I've tried to make right From the barstool confessions to lonesome refrains This six-string's my witness to joy and to pain Pre-ChorusI've walked the line between sinner and saint Wrote down my struggles with whiskey and faith ChorusI'm living in an old country song Every heartbreak and loss keeps me hangin' on With a melody made of the nights I was strong And the verses that tell me where I went wrong Yeah, I'm living in an old country song Verse 2The neon lights shine like stars on my stage But the spotlight can't cover the cracks in my cage I've traded the high life for stories to tell Of the loves that I've lost and the wars with myself Pre-ChorusI've walked the line between sinner and saint Wrote down my struggles with whiskey and faith ChorusI'm living in an old country song Every heartbreak and loss keeps me hangin' on With a melody made of the nights I was strong And the verses that tell me where I went wrong I'm living in an old country song BridgeSome call it sorrow, some call it grace I call it home when I'm lost in this place ChorusI'm living in an old country song Every heartbreak and loss keeps me hangin' on With a melody made of the nights I was strong And the verses that tell me where I went wrong I'm living in an old country song

Verse 1In the dead of night, where shadows lay their claim, A lonesome cowboy rides, with nothing left to gain. He's faced a thousand demons, in the desert's cruel embrace, But now the final showdown, when death calls his name. ChorusWhen death calls your name, will you stand and fight? In the valley of darkness, will you shine your light? The devil's on your trail, with his fiery flame, But the righteous never falter, when death calls your name. Verse 2He's got a six-gun loaded, with the weight of every sin, Each bullet forged in anger, but his heart was caving in. He's walked the line of justice, on a path of burning shame, But redemption's in his holster, when death calls his name. ChorusWhen death calls your name, will you stand and fight? In the valley of darkness, will you shine your light? The devil's on your trail, with his fiery flame, But the righteous never falter, when death calls your name. BridgeIn the dust and the blood, where the wicked fall, A cowboy's prayer echoes, through the canyon's call. He's ready for the reckoning, no fear in his veins, For he'll ride with the angels, when death calls his name. ChorusWhen death calls your name, will you stand and fight? In the valley of darkness, will you shine your light? The devil's on your trail, with his fiery flame, But the righteous never falter, when death calls your name.
Verse 1In a rusty old house, lived an old friend of mine He lived plain and simple, didn't chase no fame, He is not my mother's brother, but I call him family To me he is my Uncle, we're close as we could be Verse 2We'd sit on the porch, 'neath the southern sun, With a glass of iced tea, trying to learn new songs, Spinning tales of the past, with a smile wide and wise, We'd hang on each word, laughter mixed with sighs. ChorusOh, help me Uncle Martin, help me write this song People think I'm crazy, but I'll prove them wrong I'm hanging on your strings waiting for the world to hear How easy it can be, between Uncle Martin and me Verse 3During hard times, you'd find him lending me a hand, Patchin' up my broken pieces, like a rock he'd stand Never spoke much of troubles, never looked for praise, Just the kind of good soul, with a heart full of grace. ChorusOh, help me Uncle Martin, help me write this song People think I'm crazy, but I'll prove them wrong I'm hanging on your strings waiting for the world to hear How easy it can be, between Uncle Martin and me BridgeSeasons have come, and seasons have passed, But the lessons he taught us, forever will last, I hold 'em close, like a cherished song, In my heart, Uncle Martin will forever belong. ChorusOh, help me Uncle Martin, help me write this song People think I'm crazy, but I'll prove them wrong I'm hanging on your strings waiting for the world to hear How easy it can be, between Uncle Martin and me

Our StoryNuestra Historia

Calls me home Sentirse en casa

Southern Colored Rooster was born from a life surrounded by music. We grew up in a home where singing was part of everyday life and a guitar was always within reach. Music was never a phase. It was the language we learned to feel in.

For years, I stepped away from that path. Life took me in different directions. Still, I kept writing. Notebooks filled with lyrics that had no sound yet. Stories waiting for their time.

In 2024, I wrote “Uncle Martin” and everything shifted. I remembered who I am when I hold a guitar. Then came “When Death Calls Your Name” and more songs that needed to be heard. En 2024, escribí "Uncle Martin" y todo cambió. Recordé quién soy cuando sostengo una guitarra. Luego vino "When Death Calls Your Name" y más canciones que necesitaban ser escuchadas.

The project started under my own name, C. Parra. It was the right beginning. But what I was building needed a stronger identity.

Southern Colored Rooster blends country and southern rock with the metal influence that shaped my teenage years. It is Costa Rica and Nashville in the same song. It is tradition with edge. Honest lyrics. Strong guitars. Stories that feel lived. Letras honestas. Guitarras fuertes. Historias que se sienten vividas.

This is more than a new name. It is a commitment to who I am as a songwriter. It is about bringing the songs out of the drawer and into the firelight.

It's time to grab my hat and put my boots on!
